STATE LAW CHANGES

To Sycamore Glen Resident,

Re: Recycling and Organics at Sycamore Glen:

To adhere to California Senate Bill 1383 (SB 1383), and Tustin Municipal Code, Sycamore Glen will be adding additional recycling bins and food waste carts to every enclosure. This bill was passed in order to reduce the amount of recyclable materials that enter into the landfills, thus lowering pollutant emissions.

There will be 10 trash bins, 10 recycling bins, and 10 food waste carts onsite. Trash will be picked up three times a week, recycling one time a week, and food waste one time a week under the new service. CR&R will deliver educational material, food scrap pails, and tote bags to all residents to assist in the new programs.

For more information regarding SB 1383, please visit https://calrecycle.ca.gov/organics/slcp/. City requirements regarding mandatory recycling and organics can be found in Section 4361 of the Tustin City Code.
